'Living a Nightmare': Loved Ones of Unaccounted For Teenagers Desperately Seek News After Ski Resort Fire

Teenage Swiss national a young man from Switzerland is listed as missing.

The loved ones of young people unaccounted for after a devastating fire at a venue in a Swiss ski resort are facing an agonising wait for confirmed information and pleading for clues about their family members via social media.

The blaze devastated the Le Constellation bar in Cans-Montana, located in the Alps of the Valais region, in the small hours of January 1st. Circulated video reveal the roof structure being engulfed in flames as bottles with sparklers are raised in celebration.

Emergency services have indicated that it could take an extended period to identify the those who perished of the disaster, which claimed the lives of 40 people and injured another 119. A spokesperson noted on Friday that 113 of the injured have been identified, with work continuing to locate the remaining few.

In the interim, families and friends have been posting on social media to appeal for clues about their missing relatives who were present at the venue that night.

Desperate Searches for the Missing

The location of Swiss national Arthur Brodard, 16, are not yet determined, according to an public plea from his mother.

The resident of a town near Lausanne, told a local newspaper that she had gone back to Lausanne to check whether he was in the hospital, while his other parent did the equivalent search in the capital, but could not find him.

"I'm living a nightmare, a horror. Either I find my son in the morgue, or I find him in critical condition. Words cannot describe it," she stated.

She added that some of his peers had been located with burns covering a significant portion of their bodies. "It's indescribable; they endured hell."

The Italy's foreign ministry has said that a number of of its nationals are still unaccounted for.

Junior golfer Emanuele Galeppini, sixteen, was last in contact around the turn of the new year on December 31st, as stated by.

Included in that group is Emanuele Galeppini, a teenage promising athlete, who hailed from Italy but now living in Dubai.

The national sporting body has stated that he is dead, without mentioning the tragedy, honoring a "talented young man who embodied passion and authentic values."

His parent, told media that his son was at the bar and was last heard from around the new year. An official spokesperson has indicated that a formal confirmation of his death is not yet.

Additional Cases

Giovanni Tamburi, sixteen, is likewise among the missing. His mother told reporters that he had been on vacation but had gone out with friends and found himself at the bar.

"A companion informed me they escaped after the fire broke out and that he had his phone with him, but then at a certain point he couldn't see him anymore," she said, adding he had been wearing a identifiable piece of jewelry.

One of his teachers stated, "I remember his good nature and smile, coupled with great maturity. Every time offer to get me a coffee."

Alice Kallergis, who holds dual Swiss and Greek citizenship but lives full-time in Switzerland, was also at the bar on that night, according to media.

Her brother has shared an urgent request online, saying the relatives has had "no information" regarding the 15-year-old or the three friends she was with, who are also unaccounted for.
